Dr. Jamil Helmy, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for Follow-up Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan, participated in the opening session of the conference of the "Views from the Front Line" project, which was organized by the Arab Network for Environment and Development "Raed", in cooperation with the Global Network for Disaster Risk Reduction and three local associations.
The project targets 15 rural and urban communities from the governorates of Greater Cairo, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Fayoum, and will continue over a period of 3 years.
Dr. Helmy added that in preparation for hosting the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP 27” next November, Egypt is preparing to launch more than 20 green projects in five sectors, including electricity, renewable energy, transportation, agriculture, water, and oil, and gas, with a total cost of more than $120 billion.
