Today, Tuesday, about two million pilgrims began flocking to Mount Arafat in Mecca to perform the greatest rite of Hajj.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, "the pilgrims' convoys were escorted to the Arafat area by crews of security personnel who guided the vehicle roads and pedestrian paths to organize them, according to the plans grouping of the pilgrims.

It is worth noting that Mount Arafat is a small mountain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) located on the road between Makkah and Taif, about 22 km from Makkah, 10 km from Mina, and 6 km from Muzdalifah.

Mount Arafa is 300 meters long, and in the middle of its summit is a 7-meter tall figure that distinguishes it from the rest of the mountains.

The most important rituals of Hajj are held on the mount, which is called the Waqfat Arafah (or the day of Arafah), on the ninth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The stand on Arafah is the most important ritual of Hajj, as the Prophet Muhammad said: “The Hajj is Arafah.”
