Sara Duterte-Carpio, the eldest daughter of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, filed her candidacy for vice president on November 13, according to the Philippine Commission on Elections.

After her political party's chosen candidate withdrew, the 43-year-old mayor of Davao City entered the vice-presidential election as a replacement. Her candidacy was filed on November 15, two days before the deadline for elections aspirants to be replaced.

In this country, the president and vice president are elected separately. The Constitution of the United States enables each President to serve only one six-year term.

In May 2022, the Southeast Asian country will have elections for positions ranging from the president through governors, mayors, and municipal politicians.
