In an unprecedented show of international interest, the third edition of the World Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development (PHDC’25) has drawn more than 25,000 participants within just its first three days, according to an official statement issued by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population.
The surge in attendance marks the highest participation level since the conference’s inception, underscoring its growing influence as a global platform for scientific exchange, policy dialogue, and professional training in the fields of health, population studies, and human development.
Organizers reported a rapid increase in turnout across the opening days:
Day 1: Over 6,000 participants
Day 2: Approximately 7,500 participants
Day 3 (Friday): More than 12,000 participants
This brings total attendance to over 25,000 specialists, researchers, policymakers, and students who have taken part in sessions, workshops, and scientific programs so far.
The Ministry emphasized that this exceptional engagement reflects the rising global interest in the congress’s themes, ranging from healthcare system innovation and demographic trends to sustainable human development strategies.
Experts say the turnout further cements PHDC’s reputation as a leading international hub for exchanging expertise, presenting cutting-edge research, and exploring policy solutions to some of the most urgent public health and developmental challenges worldwide.
The conference’s sessions and training tracks will continue until the end of Saturday, November 15, concluding with the distribution of Egyptian Board–accredited certificates by the Egyptian Health Council.
With its record-breaking attendance and diverse global participation, PHDC’25 is increasingly positioning itself as a cornerstone event on the international health and development calendar, one that is shaping dialogue, policy, and capacity-building efforts for years to come.
