Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the war failed to achieve its objectives despite the assassinations of leaders and nuclear scientists and attacks on infrastructure.
Pezeshkian added, "I am well aware of the hardships our people endured, and their patience in the face of economic pressures was a great test."
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that the imminent Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding focuses on ending the war at this stage without discussing the nuclear issue.
Baghaei emphasized that the Memorandum of Understanding is not a final agreement with Washington, but rather an understanding that addresses the main points of contention and affirms the end of the war.
Baghaei said that, due to past experiences, the focus at this stage is solely on ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
He pointed out that the issues between Iran and the United States are complex and this path must be pursued cautiously.
