Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran was left with no option but to defend itself following the "U.S.-Zionist military aggression."
He noted that Iran remains committed to the belief that regional security and stability must be achieved through the collective efforts of its nations.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Pezeshkian stated, "Your Majesties and Excellencies, leaders of friendly and neighboring countries; we have sought with you, through diplomacy, to avoid war. However, the U.S.-Zionist military aggression left us with no choice but to defend ourselves. We respect your sovereignty and believe that the security and stability of the region must be realized through the unified efforts of its countries."
