Egypt participates in the Youth Forum in Moscow

Peoples' Friendship University of Russia organized the Russia-Africa Youth Forum in Moscow on education in the nuclear field and sustainable development in Africa by supporting education in the nuclear field, which provides opportunities for scientific and technological development.

The activities of the forum came as a result of the recommendations of the "Russia-Africa" ​​forum held in Sochi 2019, which was inaugurated by President Vladimir Putin and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Peoples' Friendship University organized this forum in cooperation with the Rosatom Corporation for Nuclear Energy, with the participation of the Ministry of Higher Education in Russia, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation as well as the African Nuclear Energy Commission, and in the presence of representatives of 20 African countries including Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia, and a number of ambassadors of African countries.

The activities included organizing 6 sections: Energy - Agricultural Technology - Environment - Nuclear Medicine - Youth and Civil Society - and Industrial Partnership, as the participants discussed new forms of cooperation in the field of sustainable development in Africa, activating cooperation between African countries and Russia in the field of nuclear energy, as well as activating the role of alumni associations and exchanging experiences with foreign graduates of Russian universities.

The forum's round table was moderated by Larisa Yefremova, Vice-President of the Friendship University for International Relations.

The opening speeches included the speech of Tatiana Terentyeva, Vice President of the Rosatom Corporation for Nuclear Energy, Konstantin Kosachev, Vice President of The Federation Council, Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation.

Sherif Gad, head of Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities participated in the forum and confirmed that the Egyptian street is now happy with the state's step in establishing the Dabaa station. Gad expressed his happiness to meet the Egyptian engineers who are now studying nuclear energy in Russia in preparation for managing the Dabaa plant in the future, noting that he attended the Russia-Africa forum inaugurated by President Putin and President Sisi in 2019.

Gad also called for more scientific and cultural activity of the Rosatom Foundation in Egypt, to develop the bilateral relations to what the Egyptian and Russian sides aspire to.
