On Tuesday, the Pentagon announced that the US will continue to share intelligence with Ukraine and cooperate with allies to provide Kyiv with long-range defense systems.
A Pentagon official, who declined to be named, confirmed that the US Department of Defense is not aware of plans to supply Ukraine with the S-400 system from any country, noting that the Ukrainians are not trained to operate this system.
Earlier, a senior Pentagon official announced that Russia had transferred more troops and equipment to the Donbas region, noting that Russia was focusing its missile strikes on it.
In the same context, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed that the ministry is seeking to verify reports about the possibility of Russian forces using a chemical substance in their war on Ukraine, especially in Mariupol city.
Moreover, Kirby expressed the US and its NATO allies’ concerns over the alarming reports.
