The US Defense Department ( Pentagon) confirmed on Friday that the US military is using unarmed marches over the Gaza Strip to support Israel.
The Pentagon said in a statement, “The United States conducts reconnaissance flights and uses unarmed marches over the Gaza Strip, and provides assistance and advisory services to Israel to support efforts to free the hostages.”
The Pentagon explained that "the flying of the marches began after the attack on Israel on October 7." It is also believed that "about 200 people, including citizens of the United States and Russia, are still prisoners of the Hamas movement that rules the Strip."
Washington also announced earlier that the US authorities, with regional partners and Israel, are continuing to negotiate the release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Hamas Political Bureau member Ghazi Hamad confirmed that the movement is ready to release 240 Israeli prisoners in exchange for the release of all Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
