The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed on Tuesday that the United States has not been involved in Israel's ongoing military operations in Lebanon.
Sabrina Singh, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, emphasized this during an interview with Sky News Arabia, stating, "The United States has not engaged in Israel's operations in Lebanon."
Singh further noted that the U.S. continues to work diplomatically with all parties involved, urging them to negotiate. She highlighted that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had a conversation with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant, in which Austin stressed the importance of protecting civilians during military operations.
Moreover, Austin assured Gallant that the United States would respond to any attacks targeting U.S. forces in the region.
Earlier, Singh announced that Washington had taken proactive measures to strengthen the defensive posture of U.S. troops in the Middle East, aiming to minimize the risk of a broader regional conflict.
