Us Defense Department ( Pentagon) announced allocating special funding in its draft 2023 defense budget, which is submitted to Congress, to maintain a "safe and effective nuclear deterrent."
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced in a statement posted on the Pentagon's website that the defense budget for next year that was submitted to Congress amounts to $773 billion.
This budget allocates "about $56.5 billion for Air Force platforms and systems, more than $40.8 billion for the Navy to include nine additional warships, and about $12.6 billion to modernize Army and Marine Corps combat vehicles," he said.
Austin added that the Pentagon allocates "more than $130.1 billion for research and development because the USA understands the need to increase our readiness in advanced technology, the Internet, space, and artificial intelligence."
