On Friday, a US federal appeals court rejected a challenge filed by President Donald Trump's campaign to block the announcement of Joe Biden's victory in Pennsylvania, according to Reuters.

The ruling is another major setback for Trump's efforts to overturn the outcome of the elections, which took place on November 3.

Earlier, Trump claimed that Biden would not enter the white house as a president "unless he can prove that his ridiculous “80,000,000 votes” were not fraudulently or illegally obtained."

On Thursday, Trump tweeted that he will leave the White House if the electoral college votes for Democratic President-elect Joe Biden."

Electoral College voters, known as electors, are scheduled to meet on December 14, and Biden is set to be inaugurated on 20 January 2021 as the 46th president of the United States.

It is worth mentioning that, Pennsylvania certified Biden, who won the state by 80,000 votes, as its winner this week.

Under Pennsylvania law, the candidate who wins the popular vote in the state gets all of the state’s 20 electoral votes.
