The first stage of the parliamentary elections is kicking off today, Saturday, in Egyptian governorates.
The National Elections Authority coordinates with the concerned government agencies to secure the election process.
Police forces are deployed in the streets, while the Interior Ministry raised the level of preparedness to secure the election process.
Egyptian expats voted on Wednesday, in the first stage of the parliamentary elections over three days, according to the schedule set by the National Elections Authority (NEA).
NEA decided to allow voting through “express mail” due to the spread of COVID-19.
Earlier, the NEA announced that the first stage of the elections will kick off for Egyptians abroad from October 21 to 23 while it will kick off in Egypt on October 24 and 25.
The re-runs of the first stage will be held for Egyptians abroad from November 21 to 23 and in Egypt on November 24 and 25.
