Today, Egypt is set to see a large-scale cabinet reshuffle of at least 10 ministers of Moustafa Madbouli’s government, parliamentary sources exclusively told: “SEE”.
The sources anticipated that Madbouli will remain in office as prime minister, adding that the reshuffle will include 10 ministerial portfolios, including, investment, trade and industry, justice, agriculture, tourism, social solidarity, and parliamentary affairs
The expected new ministers are as follows:
Counselor Omar Marwan will be appointed as the Minister of Justice.
Rania Al-Mashat will be named Minister of International Cooperation,
Nevin Jameh to be also named as Minister of Trade, Industry
Alaa Fouad is likely to serve as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs.
Osama Heikal will also be appointed as Minister of Information.
The sources added that the three ministers of defense, electricity, and planning will be appointed as deputies for the prime minister while retaining their posts.
The sources announced that a number of ministerial portfolios will be merged together in the coming cabinet reshuffle. The tourism and antiquities ministries will be merged under one portfolio, meanwhile, the investment and international cooperation ministry will be separated into two portfolios.
In previous statements, MP Mohamed Abdel Ghani said that the reshuffle comes, at this specific time, in response to people’s sense of dissatisfaction with the performance of the government, and the lack of a clear improvement in the living standards of most citizens.
He anticipated changes to ministries of supply, health, finance, trade and industry, planning, housing, higher education, local development, education, and social solidarity.
The government previously received a vote of confidence from parliament in July 2018.
