French President Emmanuel Macron has invited European leaders to a high-level meeting in Paris on Monday, according to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, who confirmed the news on Saturday.

Sikorski announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will attend the gathering, stating:

"At the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will travel to a meeting of European leaders on Monday. We must demonstrate our strength and unity."

The Élysée Palace acknowledged ongoing talks between European leaders regarding a potential informal meeting, though the official date has not yet been confirmed.

Addressing Ukraine’s Future and U.S. Diplomacy

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Sikorski emphasized the need for European leaders to take seriously the challenges posed by former U.S. President Donald Trump’s push for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding a Ukraine settlement.

He warned that the credibility of the United States hinges on how the war concludes, stressing that:

"This is not just about the credibility of a Trump administration, but about the credibility of the United States as a whole."

Sikorski also cautioned Trump against pursuing a peace deal that lacks fairness, stating:

"If he wants a Nobel Prize, peace must be just."

EU Foreign Ministers Meet in Munich

Meanwhile, the European Union’s top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, has called for an informal gathering of EU foreign ministers attending the Munich Security Conference on Sunday.

According to her spokesperson, the meeting aims to assess recent discussions with U.S. and Ukrainian officials regarding the crisis.

A statement on X reiterated Europe's firm stance on Ukraine:

"We are at a critical moment for the future of Ukraine and Europe. Europe stands with Ukraine."

This Paris meeting underscores Europe's strategic discussions on Ukraine's security, geopolitical stability, and the future of transatlantic relations, as leaders seek a unified response to shifting U.S. policies and ongoing war challenges.
