Commenting on the major gathering of Iranians scheduled in Paris on June 20, Afshin Alavi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), stated that the significance of this event goes far beyond the size of participation.
According to him, it reflects a growing political reality: the Iranian people not only reject the current regime, but also possess a democratic and organized alternative capable of leading the country toward a free future.
Alavi noted that for decades the ruling establishment in Tehran has attempted to convince the international community that it is the only viable option in Iran and that any change would inevitably lead to chaos.
However, repeated nationwide uprisings, the growing role of the Iranian Resistance, and increasing international support for the NCRI have demonstrated that this narrative is no longer credible.
He explained that the Paris rally comes at a critical moment when the Iranian regime is facing deep economic, political, and social crises, while internal divisions continue to widen.
At the same time, the Iranian people have repeatedly shown their determination to reject all forms of dictatorship.
Therefore, the central message of the rally is that Iranians reject both the current religious dictatorship and any attempt to revive hereditary rule, insisting instead on a democratic republic based on popular sovereignty and free elections.
According to Alavi, the growing international support for this gathering reflects an important shift in attitudes toward Iran.
Increasing numbers of political leaders, parliamentarians, and human rights advocates in Europe and North America now recognize that decades of appeasement have only encouraged further repression at home and destabilizing interventions abroad.
They increasingly see support for the Iranian people and their democratic aspirations as the only sustainable path forward.
Alavi emphasized that the Ten-Point Plan presented by Maryam Rajavi has gained broad support because it offers a comprehensive vision for a future Iran founded on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, abolition of the death penalty, respect for ethnic and religious diversity, and a non-nuclear republic living in peace with its neighbors and the international community.
He added that the Iranian regime is fully aware of the significance of these developments.
This is why it has intensified executions, arrests, and repression inside the country, fearing a convergence between domestic unrest and growing international recognition of the democratic alternative.
In conclusion, Alavi stated that the Paris rally is not merely a protest event but an important political milestone demonstrating that the democratic alternative for Iran is no longer a slogan.
It is a credible political project supported by a growing number of Iranians and international supporters. The message of June 20, he said, is clear: no return to dictatorship in any form, but a future based on democracy, human rights, the rule of law, and the free will of the Iranian people.
