American media personality Paris Hilton and entrepreneur Carter Reum got engaged on Saturday, Feb. 13 after more than a year of dating.
Reum proposed while they were celebrating Hilton's 40th birthday on a private island. He gave Hilton an emerald-cut ring, which was designed by Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis Cartier.
Hilton's sister Nicky and Reum's brother Courtney celebrated the news with them later on the trip.
The socialite announced Wednesday the news on her Instagram, sharing a video and photo featuring more engagement photos.
"When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. 💫 My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise. 🏝️ As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee," she wrote.
