Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa affirmed on Sunday that the Palestinian position regarding the Gaza Strip remains steadfast, considering it an integral and inseparable part of the Palestinian state. He emphasized that the government's primary objective is the swift restoration of legitimacy to unify the people, the land, and the institutions, paving the way for the establishment of an independent state on all Palestinian territories.
The Palestinian Prime Minister explained that the Palestinian leadership approved the recent UN Security Council resolution in pursuit of its comprehensive and complete implementation, foremost among which is a ceasefire.
He noted that the 24-month transitional period stipulated by the resolution has already elapsed, necessitating the acceleration of arrangements for transferring powers and authorities to the Palestinian National Authority and the Palestinian government as soon as possible.
