Palestine's Ambassador to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh, announced that President Mahmoud Abbas will arrive in Egypt on Sunday for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
During his visit, Abbas will participate in the opening session of the World Urban Forum, as reported by the Palestinian News Agency.
Al-Louh stated that a bilateral meeting is scheduled between the two presidents during the visit to exchange views, strengthen mutual cooperation, and discuss ongoing developments in Palestine, the region, and the world.
He added that, the top priority of the meeting is to explore ways to support Egypt's efforts, along with other partners, to halt the ongoing war against the Palestinian people, protect them, provide humanitarian aid, and begin reconstruction of areas devastated by the ongoing conflict.
"They will also work to mobilize efforts toward ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and establishing an independent, sovereign, contiguous, and viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," the Palestinian ambassador continued.
It is worth mentioning that, the forum's activities are expected to include several ministerial and technical delegations from Palestine, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Palestinian presence at this significant global event in its 12th session.
