Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Beijing, Tuesday, on a four-day official visit.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin described the Palestinian president as an "old friend of the Chinese people," noting that he is the first head of an Arab country hosted by China this year, according to Chinese news network (CGTN).
Moreover, Wang added that China-Palestine relations are developing well under the strength of political mutual trust and deep friendship between the two peoples.
During his visit, Abbas is set to meet a number of senior Chinese officials, led by President Xi Jinping.
Xi and Abbas are scheduled to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations, as well as exchanging views on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and regional and international issues of common concern.
