Palestinian Prime Minister (PM) Mohammad Mustafa and UN Secretary-General António Guterres discussed the latest developments in Palestine today, Saturday, on the sidelines of the 39th African Union Summit in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The discussions covered the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the ongoing Israeli occupation measures and settler attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), Mustafa emphasized the importance of implementing international resolutions related to Palestine, most notably Security Council Resolution 2803, which calls for an end to the war on Gaza and the unrestricted delivery of emergency relief and humanitarian aid to address the catastrophic conditions in the Strip and launch the recovery and reconstruction process.
The Palestinian PM also reviewed the occupation's actions in the West Bank, including daily incursions, checkpoints, and movement restrictions, as well as settler attacks on citizens and their property, the continued withholding of Palestinian funds, and annexation and settlement expansion plans.
Furthermore, Mustafa stressed the vital importance of ensuring the continuity of UNRWA's operations and its services to Palestinian refugees, while calling for enhanced coordination between the State of Palestine and UN agencies to bolster relief and recovery efforts.
