Palestinian Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shtayyeh congratulated Egypt for the wonderful effort and excellent organization of COP27.
This came during the 'Coordination of Climate Action in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean' summit, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Moreover, Shtayyeh noted that Palestine is not the only country in the eastern Mediterranean affected by climate change, calling for the study of climate issues in all its aspects.
"We consume about 2.7 liters of water for each person in Palestine, in return there is a large deficit, and we must remember that there is a problem regarding cooperation and water rights," Palestinian PM said.
"We need a qualitative leap related to the behavior of individuals, residents, and industrial bodies, and all destructive actions against the environment must be stopped," he continued.
