The Israeli occupation forces released the 23-year-old Palestinian prisoner Malak Sulaiman after spending 8 years in the occupation prisons.

Malak’s release was part of a list that included 39 Palestinian detainees, including women and children.

Videos showed the first meeting between the freed prisoner and her mother after she was released as part of the resistance deal, after spending years in Israeli prisons.

A state of sadness, confusion, and emotion mixed in the first moments between the Malak and her mother, who was deprived of seeing her for 8 years.

Malak - born in Beit Safafa, southeast of occupied Jerusalem - spent 8 years in occupation prisons, after the Israeli occupation forces led her to detention centers in 2016, while she was in the Bab al-Amoud area in the Old City, carrying her school bag. At that time, she was beaten and abused by the occupation soldiers.

The occupation courts convicted the prisoner on charges of involvement in resistance activities, and issued a ten-year prison sentence against her. After appeal, the sentence was reduced to nine years. She was transferred to several prisons, until she settled in Damon Prison.
