Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas asserted on Thursday that Palestine insists for heading elections in Jerusalem, calling for the city’s right in voting.
He added that they received a message from the Israeli authorities highlighting that Israel can’t respond to Palestinian request for organizing the elections in Jerusalem.
On his side, Abbas rejected the Israeli message, pointing out that all Palestinian movements, politicians, and senior officials are examining the process of the elections.
In the same context, he highlighted that the European Union is backing Palestinians right in organizing the elections.
The first Palestinian elections in 15 years are facing various hardships such as dispute over Eastern Jerusalem rights in voting.
