On Saturday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing violent acts by Israeli forces in Khan Younis city of Gaza, highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis caused by these actions. The violence has resulted in the displacement of approximately 150,000 Palestinians, exacerbating the already critical situation.

In a public statement, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the severe impact of the siege on Khan Younis, which has disrupted the supply of essential food and other commodities to the area. He accused Israeli forces of perpetrating acts of genocide against the Palestinian people, leading to a humanitarian catastrophe that demands urgent international attention and intervention.

Prime Minister Sharif called on the international community, including the United Nations, to fulfill their responsibilities in addressing the crisis in Gaza. He stressed that Pakistan has consistently advocated for Palestinian rights and highlighted their plight on global platforms. Notably, Pakistan has raised the issue of Palestinian self-determination and Israeli oppression at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Sharif reiterated the necessity for the immediate implementation of the ICJ’s recent decisions and the resolutions adopted by the United Nations concerning the Palestinian issue. He urged global leaders and organizations to hold Israel accountable for its actions, which he described as war crimes.

Highlighting Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people, Prime Minister Sharif detailed the country’s substantial humanitarian efforts. Pakistan has dispatched approximately 1,200 tons of relief goods to Palestine via Pakistan Air Force planes and an additional 1,500 tons through three ships. These relief efforts are part of Pakistan's broader commitment to support the Palestinian population during these challenging times.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif announced special measures to assist Palestinian students affected by the conflict. He has instructed the enrollment of Palestinian medical students in Pakistani medical colleges to ensure they can continue their education despite the ongoing turmoil in their homeland.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement concluded with a fervent call to the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza. He reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Pakistani government and its people for the Palestinian cause, expressing solidarity with their "brothers and sisters" in Palestine.

This condemnation by Prime Minister Sharif reflects Pakistan’s long-standing position on the Palestinian issue and its commitment to advocating for human rights and justice on the international stage. The urgent plea for global action underscores the critical need for a coordinated response to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
