The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt Aamir shouket met in Cairo with the President of the Egyptian Football Association, Engineer Hani Abu Rida, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in football and sports diplomacy.
During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the warmest greetings and congratulations of the Pakistani people to Engineer Hani Abu Rida on Egypt's exceptional performance and outstanding achievements in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. He also commended the leading role played by the Egyptian Football Association and its contributions to the development of the game in Egypt.
In a gesture reflecting solidarity, friendship, and appreciation, the Ambassador presented a Trionda football, a Pakistani-made brand, as a symbol of the close and longstanding relations between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation in football, including technical cooperation, capacity building, youth development, and strengthening people-to-people ties through sport. They also discussed opportunities to benefit from shared experiences and expertise in order to strengthen institutional cooperation and deepen the historical friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
