Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan warned on Thursday that Muslims in Kashmir could be subjected to "genocide and ethnic cleansing." He threatened to retaliate for any aggression against the Pakistani side of Kashmir.
Khan tweeted: "In occupied Kashmir of India, 12 days of curfew, sending additional troops to an area where a significant military and complete interruption of communications exist.
He talked about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ethnic cleansing of Muslims in Gujarat and pointed out to the violence in the state in 2002 when Modi ruled it between Hindus and Muslims.
Khan added: "Will the world silently witness another massacre and ethnic cleansing of Muslims in occupied Kashmir by India. Is it will happen in the Srebrenica massacre (which took place in Bosnia in 1995)?"
He said: "I warn the international community of fallout in the Islamic world in case of allowing this to happen. This will push towards extremism and violence."
Khan visited the Pakistani part of Kashmir, on Wednesday. He threatened to respond to any Indian aggression on the part of his country's control of the region. "The Pakistani army has information that India is planning to do something in Pakistani Kashmir. They will make a strong response," Khan said,. He threatened to "fight to the end" if India committed any violation.
