Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged all parties to exercise restraint and honor the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States. He emphasized that the current truce represents a first step toward broader peace in the region and warned that violations of the ceasefire could undermine the spirit of the peace process. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the fragile truce could evolve into a lasting agreement that halts escalation.
Reuters reported, citing two Pakistani sources, that U.S. and Iranian delegations are scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Thursday. The U.S. team will be led by [William] Vance, while the Iranian side will be represented by [Mohammad Bagher] Ghalibaf and [Seyed Abbas] Araghchi to discuss developments in the crisis.
Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reported that Iran may withdraw from the ceasefire if Israel continues to violate it through attacks on Lebanon, complicating the situation further.
Islamabad stressed that the upcoming talks offer an opportunity to transform the temporary truce into a lasting solution, amid rising regional tensions and the urgent need for international action.
