Pakistan will buy more electricity from Iran, the country's finance ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The decision was taken by the Economic Coordination Committee, headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Energy-hungry Pakistan has agreements in place to buy electricity from Tehran, to supply its border regions, especially for Chinese-backed development projects in the port of Gwadar.
The proposal to buy more electricity from Tehran came a week after Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian visited Islamabad.
The ministry did not give details about the size or terms and conditions of the new purchases.
