Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with the Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamadallah Zaid, at the Prime Minister House earlier today. The meeting underscored Pakistan’s steadfast support for Palestine and the shared commitment to justice, freedom, and the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people. He strongly condemned Israel's ongoing genocidal actions, which have escalated since October 7, 2023, leading to the tragic loss of over 43,000 lives and leaving more than 105,000 injured.

The Prime Minister expressed his deep frustration over the lack of international accountability for Israel's actions and renewed his call for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. He also stressed the importance of ensuring unhindered humanitarian assistance for Palestinians suffering in the occupied territories.

In his remarks, the Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating that the entire nation stands united in its support for their cause. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for a fair and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue, grounded in the two-state solution. He called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

Ambassador Dr. Zuhair Zaid expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Pakistan for its consistent support during Palestine’s ongoing crisis. He commended the Prime Minister’s leadership and Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestinian cause. The Ambassador also acknowledged Pakistan’s vital humanitarian assistance and its initiatives, including scholarships for Palestinian medical students to study in Pakistan, which have significantly benefited the Palestinian people.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wished Ambassador Zaid a successful tenure in Pakistan and assured him of continued support in furthering the shared goals of the two nations.
