Pakistani Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan is preparing for an electronic signature on the US-Iran peace agreement within 24 hours.
Sharif confirmed that the final agreed text of a peace agreement between Iran and the United States has been finalized, noting that Islamabad is working with both parties to complete the next steps.
In a post on X, Pakistani PM stated that "peace has never been as close as it is now," referring to Pakistan's mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington, which has been interpreted as a remarkable diplomatic breakthrough in the trajectory of the anticipated understanding.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister (FM) Abbas Araghchi revealed details of the upcoming agreement, stating that the first phase consists of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) currently comprising 14 clauses. This represents the initial stage of negotiations that will last for 60 days to discuss contentious issues, including the nuclear file.
Moreover, he emphasized that ending the war under the MoU also means the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied Lebanese territories.
At the same time, Araghchi warned that if the counterpart fails to fulfill its commitments outlined in the memorandum of understanding within the 60-day period, negotiations regarding the remaining issues will not move forward.
