Pakistani Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and expressed readiness to make significant contributions to the reconstruction of Gaza following the recently agreed ceasefire, currently in its first 42-day phase.
In his opening remarks at a federal cabinet meeting broadcasted on national television, Sharif emphasized the devastating toll of the conflict, which resulted in the deaths of over 50,000 Palestinians, including men, women, and children, and the destruction of cities, according to the Pakistan News Agency.
Moreover, Pakistani PM urged that the temporary 42-day ceasefire should evolve into a permanent truce.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to provide relief materials to the Palestinian people despite immense challenges and logistical difficulties.
