Pakistan's Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, hailed Egypt's support for efforts aimed at advancing peace between the United States and Iran, highlighting the role of regional and international mediators in facilitating dialogue between the two sides.
Speaking to Alqahera News, Iqbal said the contributions of friendly nations helped create a favorable environment for negotiations and increased the chances of reaching an agreement.
He noted that several countries, including Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and China, provided political and diplomatic backing that helped facilitate communication among the parties involved.
"All countries in the region had a shared interest in ending tensions and preventing a wider conflict," Iqbal said.
The Pakistani minister expressed his country's appreciation for the support provided by Egypt and other regional and international partners to peace efforts, describing regional and global cooperation as a key factor in achieving progress and advancing stability and security in the Middle East.
His remarks came amid renewed diplomatic efforts to consolidate a framework agreement between Washington and Tehran following months of negotiations.
