Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian aircraft using its airspace until July 24, according to a notice issued by the country's airport authorities.

The restriction applies to all Indian-operated aircraft, including commercial and military flights, as well as planes leased by Indian airlines.

The airspace closure was first imposed in April last year after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty amid heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors following the Pahalgam attack.

New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the incident, an accusation Pakistan rejected while calling for an independent and transparent investigation.

The continued restrictions are expected to affect flight routes and operating costs for Indian carriers as diplomatic tensions between the two countries persist.
