Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar affirmed his country's unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause during a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Six-Party Committee on the issue of Palestine.
Ishaq Dar described the Palestinian cause as central to the OIC's objectives, pointing out to the continued suffering of the Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, where civilians and civilian facilities are being systematically targeted. The scale of the suffering has reached catastrophic levels, according to a statement issued by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
He noted that the International Court of Justice has described the situation in Gaza as "potential genocide," stressing that the ongoing Israeli military campaign constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, humanitarian law, and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister condemned the collective punishment of civilians trapped in Gaza through indiscriminate bombing, the imposed blockade, and the denial of humanitarian aid, warning of the escalation of violence by the Israeli regime in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
