Pakistan: 2 Candidates to Succeed Imran Khan 'Approved'

Shehbaz Sharif and Shah Mahmood are today approved by the Pakistani National Assembly as candidates for the post of the new Prime Minister.

The News Agency of Pakistan indicated that the vote on the election of the new prime minister will be held on Monday.

The representatives of the National Assembly will elect one of the candidates for the post of prime minister.

Shehbaz Sharif is currently the head of the opposition Muslim League, a candidate for the opposition parties, while Shah Mahmood is the deputy head of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, the party of ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan. He was the foreign minister in the ousted government.
