The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM), under the Presidency of MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, has welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately and permanently cease military operations across various fronts, including Lebanon, and to guarantee freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
In an official statement, the PA-UfM described the agreement as an important step towards promoting peace, de-escalating regional tensions, and strengthening regional and international stability. The Assembly further emphasized that such developments contribute to safeguarding global economic stability and advancing the well-being and prosperity of the peoples of the Mediterranean region and the wider international community.
