More than 30 people were arrested during a large-scale protest in London against UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to sources from Scotland Yard.

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators reportedly marched towards 10 Downing Street, criticizing the government’s immigration policies and what protesters described as growing restrictions on freedom of speech.

Crowds later gathered outside the UK Parliament as the demonstrations continued across central London.

Police confirmed that 31 people had been arrested during the protests, while officials stressed that no major acts of violence had been recorded.

The rally was organized by far-right anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson, who urged supporters ahead of the protest to ignore what he described as intimidation and threats from authorities.

The British government had earlier announced one of the country’s largest public order security operations in recent years, deploying thousands of officers alongside helicopters, drones, and armored vehicles.

Starmer warned ahead of the demonstrations that any attempts to incite hatred or violence would face the full force of the law.

A smaller counter-demonstration involving left-wing and pro-migrant activists also took place elsewhere in London, with protesters calling for more open immigration policies and greater acceptance of refugees.

The unrest comes amid growing political pressure on Starmer following recent electoral setbacks for the Labour Party and a wave of resignations inside the government, including the departure of former Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who is viewed as a potential rival to the prime minister.
