More than 170 children have been killed in the latest wave of airstrikes on Gaza, according to a statement from the United Nations.

The UN expressed deep concern over the escalating violence, calling for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilians, particularly children.

UN officials reported that the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with hospitals overwhelmed and humanitarian aid struggling to reach those in need. “Children are paying the highest price in this conflict,” said a UN spokesperson. “The loss of young lives is unacceptable.”

The recent airstrikes come amid ongoing hostilities between Israeli forces and Palestinian groups. While Israel has defended its actions as necessary for security, human rights organizations have condemned the high civilian toll, urging international intervention.

The UN has reiterated calls for both sides to de-escalate the conflict and abide by international law. Meanwhile, families in Gaza mourn the loss of their children as the humanitarian crisis deepens.
