The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that 11,020 aftershocks occurred after the earthquakes that hit Kahraman Maraş in the southeast of the country on February 6.

The "Turkyie Now" website quoted the agency as saying, "6,368 searches and rescue personnel are still working in the area."

The website noted that there are 234,636 people from disaster and emergency management, police, gendarmerie, army, ambulances, local security, local support teams, volunteers, and field staff, in the quake zones.

The total number of people affected by the earthquakes in Turkyie, which the United Nations (UN) described as the worst in Turkey's history in terms of the death toll, reached about twenty million people.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced that the death toll from the earthquake disaster in the south of the country amounted to 45,89 cases.
