The Summit of the Organization of Turkic states is set to be held on Thursday-Friday (November 10-11) in Samarkand.
The event chaired by Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is to see Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.
It is also planned to involve the leaders of International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) and other institutions. The summit is to discuss cooperation mechanisms in economy, trade, investment, transport, and other areas.
United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) was responsible for providing humanitarian exchange and improving the Organization’s activities, which was fully in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
As a result, it is planned to adopt the Samarkand Declaration, as well as other important decisions and documents designed to expand practical cooperation of the OTS member states.
