The 93rd Academy Awards, also known as Oscars, ceremony in April will be an intimate, in-person event, held without Zoom and limited to nominees, presenters and their guests, the producers said on Thursday.
Producers Steven Soderbergh, Jesse Collins and Stacey Sher stated that there are more than 200 nominees this year. They added that the nominees and their guests would gather at a courtyard in the Union rail station.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the show to hand out the highest honors in the movie industry will be held both at the Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles and at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Many Oscars shows were hosted at the venue of the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood with the attendee of hundreds of the world’s top movie stars in the 3,400-seat theater for a live show preceded by a red carpet packed with photographers and camera crews.
It is set that everyone will be tested. There will be a COVID-19 safety team on-site during the ceremony, which is set to take place on April 25.
Nominations for the Oscars were announced on Monday, with 1930s Hollywood drama “Mank” leading the field with 10, followed by “The Father”, “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “Minari”, “Nomadland”, “Promising Young Woman”, “Sound of Metal” and “The Trial of the Chicago 7”.
