The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has announced the appointment of Osama Heikal as Head of the Media and Communication Sector.
This move aligns with ICESCO's vision to enhance its media presence and develop a communication strategy that reflects its achievements over the past five years.
Heikal brings decades of experience in media and culture, having held key positions such as Egypt's Minister of State for Information, Chairman and CEO of the Egyptian Media Production City, and Chairman of the Media, Culture, and Antiquities Committee in the Egyptian Parliament.
He also served as editor-in-chief of Al-Wafd newspaper and is a columnist and author, known for works like 150 Days in Egypt’s History and Fourth-Generation Warfare: Media and Societal Fragmentation.

Heikal has been recognized with numerous national and international awards, including the Best CEO Award in 2020 by the Egyptian Management Associations Federation.
In his new role, Heikal is expected to strengthen ICESCO’s media performance, develop a strategic framework with clear objectives, and contribute to advancing the organization’s vision in serving its member states.
