“1/3 of the overall food production world-wide is wasted”, this is what the global forum that is currently being held in Awaji Island in Japan revealed.

The forum was inaugurated yesterday under the title of “Sustainable Development Goals and Food”.

The discussions taking place focus on the ways by which people could decrease the amount of chemicals in their food and maintain a sustainable healthy diet.

Moreover, the participants shed light on food industry techniques, infrastructure, climate change and ways to deal with arable lands.

They concluded that proper food and education are the main basics to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) set by the UN.

Another truth was that healthy food enhances people’s health and decrease the cost of medical care in countries.

The forum’s events are supposed to last till 27th of June and release a food international guide in line with the international community’s standards.

This guide will guarantee a healthy life style for 7.6 Billion people world-wide.

Awaji forum is taking place ahead of holding the G20 Osaka summit on 28th of June for 2 successive days.

It’s remarkable that the United Nations has set 17 main sustainable development goals beside other 169 sub-goals to be achieved in 10 years starting now.
