Oriental Weavers Founder Undergoes Precision Surgery in US

Founder of Oriental Weavers and Chairman of the Egyptian Federation of Investors Associations Mohamed Farid Khamis is undergoing a precision operation in the United States, reports said.

Khamis, 80, owns many businesses in various sectors, including ones involved in urban development (OUD), petrochemicals, tourism, and agriculture, however, he is best known for making high quality carpets. His company operates in Egypt and has two other factories in China and the United States, employing around 22,600 workers.

Oriental Weavers contributions to help tackle COVID-19

The Egyptian businessman attests to many charitable work, the most prominent in the recent period was supporting the state's efforts to combat the coronavirus, by donating about EGP 5 million to "Long Live Egypt" Fund, and also contributing medical equipment and supplies worth about EGP 2 million, to help tackle the deadly virus, in an initiative from businessmen and the private sector.

He also gave his support to the medical staff with special discounts on the company's products, in appreciation of their great role, from doctors to nursing agencies in various governorates.

It is worth mentioning that Khamis established oriental weaver in 1980 after obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce and later postgraduate studies in the textile industry from the US.
