Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that his country opposes hasty sanctions against Russia, an atomic bomb leading to unprecedented mass famine and migration.
"We are facing a harsh winter. The military conflict in Ukraine puts us in a difficult situation. This is difficult because we are a member of the EU, and Hungary does not agree to economic measures. The unacceptable and unreasonable actions taken in Brussels against Russia will lead to higher prices," Orban said today, Saturday at a joint conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Orban added that reckless sanctions should not be taken because sanctions against Russia are a timing bomb, which can lead to mass famine, noting that famine would create destructive immigration to countries that stand in its way.
"In 2020-2021, our heroes were doctors, and this year our heroes will be agricultural workers, and it will depend on them whether we have bread. If we don't feed the world, these migratory flows will invade us," the prime minister said.
