Opera House to Commemorate 38th Anniv. of Al-Sonbaty Departure

The Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, will commemorate the 38th anniversary of the departure of the musician Riad El Sonbaty.

The Opera will hold a concert for the Arab National Band for Music led by Maestro Dr. Mostafa Helmy at 8 pm on Friday 13 September at the Grand Theater.

The program includes presenting a selection of late compositions, performed by Ashraf Walid, Ahmed Essam, Mai Hassan, Ahmed Said, Reem Kamal, Amira Said and Mohamed Tarek.

It is noteworthy that the musician El Sonbaty was born on 30 November, 1906; he is one of the most prominent Arab musicians, distinguished by composing the poem in various templates, including operetta, dialog, monologue, poem and others.

He composed a number of exclusive music, collaborated with major singers:- Oum Kalthoum, Mounira El Mahdia, Fathia Ahmed, Saleh Abdel Hay, Mohamed Abdel Motaleb, Abdel Ghani El Sayed, Asmahan, Hoda Sultan, Fayza Ahmed, Souad Mohamed, Warda, Mayada El Hennawi, Najat and others.

He died on 10 September 1981, leaving treasures of eternal music.
