Opera Carmen to Perform at El Hanager Theater

El Hanager Theater will host the new musical performance opera Carmen directed by Reem Hegab from the 7th to 23rd of June.

The performance is a story that invites music, rhythm, colour, Spanish flair and passion. It is a rich soil for creativity and the many adaptations of the story have turned it into a guaranteed audience magnet.

Carmen is an opera by French composer Georges Bizet in the 19th century, based on a novella by Prosper Mérimée, which has become one of history’s most iconic opera characters.

Opera Carmen

It tells the story of a wild and fascinating Spanish gypsy girl who is working in a factory which corrupts an officer, before the short romance becomes entangled with passion, murder and jealousy.

The Carmen's music combines original Bizet music with compositions by Saad Mamdouh.
