OPEC on Wednesday maintained its forecast for relatively strong growth in global oil demand through 2025, saying air and road travel would boost consumption and that potential U.S. trade tariffs were not expected to weigh on economic growth.
OPEC said in its monthly report that global oil demand would rise by 1.45 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025 and by 1.43 million bpd in 2026.
The forecast was unchanged from last month, according to Reuters.
"We wait to see how and to what extent potential tariffs and other policy measures will impact (growth)," OPEC said in the report.
"They are not expected to materially impact the current baseline growth outlook so far," it added.
