Egyptian foreign policy has witnessed intensive activity throughout the past seven years; paying great attention to national interests, achieving a balance and finding a variety of relationships with countries, in addition to opening new horizons for cooperation.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly gifted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi a book entitled "The Vision and the Accomplishment," documenting Egypt's achievements throughout seven years.

In this article, we are shedding light on Egypt's foreign policy as follows: 

The principles of Egyptian policy is based on fostering peace and stability in the Arab, regional and international environment, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, supporting the principle of mutual respect and consolidating solidarity, adhering to the principles of international law, supporting the role of international organizations, as well as paying attention to the economic dimension of international relations, as well as unifying global forces on many of the issues it has adopted, especially the issues of terrorism, illegal immigration and refugees, which have strengthened Cairo's power and its role regionally and internationally.

General Indications Highlighted in the book as follows: 

In terms of strengthening international participation and achieving the country's diplomatic pioneering;

  • Advanced 4 positions in the global soft power index since its first release in 2020
  • Won non-permanent membership in the Security Council for the years 2016 and 2017
  • Joined the Human Rights Council in January 2017, and was elected Vice-President of the Council in the same year
  • Egypt chaired the Group of 77 and China (G-77) for the year 2018
  • Chaired the African Union in 2019
  • Re-elected as a member of the UN Peace Building Commission 2021/2022
  • The seventh largest contributor to UN peacekeeping operations

    Countering Illegal Migration Figures: 

  • Egypt becomes a successful global model in combating illegal immigration and supporting refugees
  • Not a single boat loaded with illegal immigrants has departed the Egyptian coasts since 2016
  • Egypt embraces 6 million immigrants and refugees who enjoy all essential services
  • 164.2 thousand refugees, an increase in the number of refugees during the last ten years
  • In 2011, 95.1 million refugees applied for an asylum, while in 2020, the number of the asylum seekers and residing refugees have increased to be 259.3 million.
